WHAT WILL YOUR RESPONSIBILITIES BE?
Carry out the assembly and fitting of industrial electrical equipment in accordance with production orders and production requirements, whilst adhering to cost, quality, deadline and health, safety and environmental (HSE) standards.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
Working from an electrical diagram:
– Select components in accordance with the bill of materials provided by the client or design office
– Carry out preparatory work (soldering, crimping, drilling, cable cutting), where necessary
– Carry out assembly and fitting
– Perform visual inspections and continuity tests (on a test bench) on the finished product and rectify any issues, if necessary
– Prepare finished products for packaging by the logistics department
– Record activity data using the tools provided
– Keep the work area tidy and clean
– Carry out stock-takes in accordance with procedures
– Induct new staff members to the role
NATURE AND SCOPE OF RESPONSIBILITIES:
– Identify and alert the line manager in the event of unforeseen events, malfunctions or difficulties
– Implement solutions to address basic difficulties encountered
– Comply with all operating procedures, protocols and written/verbal instructions
– Comply with health and safety and quality standards
– Comply with current documents, guidelines and instructions.
– Identify any non-conformities, isolate them and alert the line manager or the quality department.
– Ensure compliance with sorting guidelines and regulations regarding hazardous products
– Ensure that production workstations are kept tidy and clean
SPECIFIC SKILLS
– Be familiar with handling techniques and postures
– Be familiar with the use of hand tools and power tools (electric saw, drill, screwdriver, etc.)
– Be able to read electrical diagrams
– Be familiar with crimping and soldering techniques
– Be computer literate
– Be familiar with an ERP system
PROFESSIONAL SKILLS
– Be able to integrate into the team and demonstrate a cooperative attitude
– Be aware of how your behaviour affects the team’s work
– Use appropriate interpersonal skills to communicate
– Be willing to travel to customers’ premises
– Have good manual dexterity and visual acuity
– Be meticulous and organised
