RESPONSIBILITIES
Lead the site’s technical team (Design Office/Industrialisation) to support the entire product lifecycle, including:
– Product design and co-design with clients,
– Costing of new products and their upgrades,
– Industrialisation of new products and modifications,
– Technical management during series production, particularly in the event of stock-outs, obsolescence or for continuous optimisation.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
– Managing the team (work planning, prioritisation, human resources: annual appraisals, training, recruitment, team leadership, targets, communication, etc.)
– Taking the initiative in proposing improvements to work organisation and methods
– Overseeing the training and monitoring of the skills of the entire team
– Understanding and analysing client needs and expectations in order to design the most appropriate technical solution
– Collaborating with clients’ design office technicians to propose and justify technical alternatives that improve efficiency and on-site stock levels, whilst complying with client specifications
– Keep abreast of technical developments regarding new components for clients’ applications
– Lead industrialisation projects: FMEA, FIFAB, 1:1 scale drawings, test programmes, adjustment of assembly lines, crimping and inspection equipment, etc.
– Monitor the production of initial samples or prototypes and refine the manufacturing documentation
– Validate tooling designs for new products
– Ensure the application of industrial processes that guarantee our customers’ critical specifications
– Induct and train new staff
– Work with the Group Industrialisation Manager and lead improvement initiatives at the sites to ensure compliance with Group standards
TECHNICAL KNOWLEDGE
– Proficiency in reading electrical diagrams
– Proficiency in IT tools and the Office suite
– Knowledge of design software: AutoCAD, SEE Electrical, SolidWorks
– Knowledge of cabinet sizing, component layout and electrical wiring harnesses
– Knowledge of components relevant to client markets
– Knowledge of electrical safety standards
– Familiarity with an ERP system
– English: B2
